A Message from Professor Mindstein

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Let Me Introduce You To Some of MY Friends

I am Professor Mindstein. I discovered the ancient TUKI Island on one of my many scientific expeditions. I found that it had mystical qualities and had been inhabited by an advanced civilization who had superior technology powered by the sun!

I have contacted many of my friends from the island and they have agreed to help make your time on the World Wide Web more fun!

When you use the Club TUKI browser to enter ClubTUKI.com you will see “Themes” in the lower left hand corner of the Club TUKI home page. (If you have not downloaded the Club TUKI browser, please click on “My Hut” and click on “Download TUKI Browser”).

From there you can download over a dozen different “Themes” from my friends like: McGruff the Crime Dog, Miss America, Tim Brown (An Awesome football player), and of course, Me, Professor Mindstein! You can also download Crayon Crawler (Where you will find games for kids as young as 3 years old!)

Each of these themes will provide you with links to more fun websites and activities.

I will be visiting you regularly to introduce you to the inhabitants of TUKI island as well as my friends on the main land.

Have fun and be safe!

Respectfully Yours,

Professor Mindstein

Obama Rocks!!

Obama Rocks!! or so You say!

Club TUKI recently asked kids to submit questions to the President of the United States. We are in the process of gathering their answers together in a presentable manner to submit to the White House and hope to post your responses for all to see. In the mean time I had to comment on the results so far. ObamaRocks

Some made me laugh out loud, like “Can you paint the White House yellow?” from a 13 year old named Jonny. Some others made me very sad, but over all the questions from the kids were very insightful.

It seems that the media, and possibly parents, are getting the message across to kids of all ages that the United States is in crisis. Many of the kids asked “What are you going to do about taxes, the economy, and gas prices?” Yes, that’s right, from four year old’s to 14 year old’s, those were the most often asked questions.

I try to think back to when my kids started taking an interest in politics and world events and I believe it was high school before they started asking me questions like that. Another popular question was “What are going to do about the war in Iraq?”

Alex, a nine year old, asked “Will you be trying to stop global warming, homelessness, and hunger?” Alex also wanted to know if Obama would be making solar powered cars and “Will you be making a job for everyone?”

Then there were the questions that I had expected, “Can you shorten the number of school days?”, “What can you do to make schools funner?” Yes, all is well in the world when kids just want to have more fun.

There was one response from a 9 year old boy that squeezed a bunch of questions into our small response area. I have just copy and pasted below, and no, I did not edit this:

“Are you excited to be the first African American President ever? Where you nerves about they Inauguration? Are you excited to live in the white house. What was your favorite cartoon when you where growing up? Did you aways want to be President of the United States? or was there another job you really liked. Did you aways like school? Will you lower taxes and gas prices? Will you do your best to be President? Did you ever here the stoy of John Henry? Did Martin luther King inspire you to run for President? How long did it take to write your speech?.What did you think about your compitation while running for President? Thanks You for letting all of us kids write to you.”

I think that Matthew is definitely in line for a journalists job! His one thing he wanted to say to the President was “Good Luck …God Speed.” I think his parents should be very proud! I certainly was.

When we asked, “What is the one thing you would like to say to the President,” the overwhelming answer was “You Rock, Obama Rocks, etc.”

Who Won The Most TUKI Moola? The Results Are In!

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Today seems to be the perfect day to mention what grateful hearts some Club TUKI kids have.  At Christmas time it seems we get all caught up in what we want but kids that are thankful too. We have tens of thousands of kids on http://www.ClubTUKI.com and over the Thanksgiving Holiday we ran a contest to see what kids were thankful for.

We Offered MAJOR TUKI Moola to the Winners!

We had about a thousand responses, which was quite exciting and of those about 375 qualified to win the TUKI Moola (becuase they followed the rules).

It was very difficult to choose a winner but we all voted and below are the top three winners. It is very interesting to read what everyone is grateful for, and very heartwarming to know that so many Club TUKI kids are very grateful for exactly what they have, even when some of them seemingly have so little.

So here are the WINNERS and what THEY said they were thankful for!

First PLACE:
Gooser98

I am thankful for my parents who are always there for me, and make me feel better in tough situations. Also, my best friends, Maddelyn and Haley because they always tell me to raise my self-esteem. I am thankful for my volleyball coach who is also my hero because she teaches me different techniques and treats me like her daughter. I am thankful for my dogs who can turn a bad day into a good one. My aunt is the person I am mostly thankful for because if I know my mom won’t understand she is my second resource to let out my feelings.

Second Place:
Chris91799

1. I am thankful for my teachers, because they help me learn.
2. I am thankful for my parents, because they take good care of me and they love me.
3. I am thankful for my dog brownie because he does tricks.
4. I am very thankful I can sing I love to make noises.
5. I am thankful for my brothers they teach me alot of good stuff.

Third Place:
Georgia Girl

To tell you the truth, I am thankful for the opportunity to be alive. God handpicked each and everyone of us to be in the family we are in right now, and I am so thankful that God wanted for me to be in mine. I am thankful for the food I eat, the bed I sleep in, my family, and my strong faith. I am thankful for countless things, and there is no way I will be able to do it in 5 sentences…thank YOU!

Congratulations to our winners and we hope you will join with us in applauding all the entries. We all have something to be thankful for and these kids remind us of how important the little things are.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of here at Club TUKI. May you want for nothing this holiday season and find enough joy in your heart to share with those around you.
