Bullying is a dangerous thing.  First of all, bullying is the act of intimidating a weaker person to make them do something. Some people think bulling is funny or cool.  But guess what? It’s not.  I think the only reason why people bully others is because they want to fit in with cool people.  God did not made us to bully others.  God made us to love each other.  This is the part where you have to step up and Be Your Own You.  You do not know how important it is to Be Your Own You.  That is one of the reasons why where here on this earth.  Yes, I know were not perfect but we should try to be.

I know a kid in my class that is always picked on.  You do not know how much it hurts me seeing him get picked on.  The reason why he gets picked on is because he can do things that other people can’t. This is called jealousy.  It is not his fault God made him that way.  That is why you should always Be Your Own You.  By me saying Be Your Own You I am saying that you should not worry about if other people are prettier than you or if they’re cooler, or smarter than you.  God made us all different.  We all have our own special talent that we need to find in ourselves.

There are many different type of bullying.  There is cyber bullying which is done through the Internet.  This is where people send bad things that are not real to you and others over the Internet.  There’s also physical bullying were bullies actually physically hurt innocent people.

Sometimes people don’t know they are bullying other people when in fact they are.  An example of this type of bullying would be a bully saying, “You’re stupid”. The bully may think this is funny but it is not because it can really hurt the feelings of the person being bullied. I remember when I lived in Colombia before I was adopted I was bullied a lot because I was very poor.

Sometimes I wished I could join the cool group at school but in another way I am glad I have not because I have noticed that the people that are shy and not in the cool group are mostly the ones that are smart and have a lot to say. So, it is very important to never forget why God put you on this earth.

I have noticed that bullying is very hard to stop.  My wish is that one day every bully will stop bullying and think about how much harm they have done to people and this world.  Some people get killed from bullying and other’s end up committing suicide from it. Bullying needs to stop immediately and when bullying is stopped we can love each other and say to each other “Be Your Own You”.  Because there is only one you that is why you’re here in this world.  So, you can make a difference and the best way to make the difference is to “Be Your Own You”.

There are other ways to stop bullying:

1. Tell someone you are bullying right away so they can help you.
2. Avoid the bully if you know who they are.
3. Be brave. Acting bravely can sometimes help stop bullying. The bully can see that you’re brave enough to stand up for yourself
4. Don’t fight back; fighting back only gives the bully what he is looking for.
5. Find a friend to be with whenever you think you might run into the bully as most bullies are cowards and avoid people they believe are stronger than themselves.
6. Don’t be overly emotional or let your feelings show as this tells the bully you are weak.
7. Be self-confident and feel good about your self and know why you live in this world and that power can discourage a bully.
8. Always walk away from the bully when he first begins to pick on you.  Also, walking away tells the bully that you don’t care about his actions
9. Be a friend to anyone who is not a bully by standing up for them if they are approached by a bully.

Don’t you think the world would be a better place if we all did the nine steps above to cure the world of bullying? I think so, so won’t you join me in making the world a bully-free place to live.
